GMA and iQiyi entered into a multi-year partnership, giving viewers more chances to catch their favorite Kapuso shows.

GMA Network further widens its audience reach via a multi-year partnership with one of the world's largest online streaming platforms.

The Kapuso network has teamed up with iQiyi, the international on-demand video streaming service that is home to a diverse line-up of content mostly from Asia.

This team-up means that viewers from the Philippines can now watch their favorite Kapuso shows on the platform within 24 hours after it was aired on GMA.

Leading the pack is the hit romantic-comedy series First Yaya top-billed by Sanya Lopez and Gabby Concepcion.

As of today, April 29, viewers can watch 30 episodes of First Yaya on the iQiyi platform.

Soon to follow are upcoming Kapuso shows including Legal Wives, Love You Stranger, and Nagbabagang Luha, among many others.

iQiyi will stream 12 Kapuso shows this year and looks to add more in the succeeding years.

“We are excited to be a part of this journey with our partners from GMA.

"From a content standpoint, the keyword that I want to use here is it's Asian.

"The main focus of iQiyi is Asia. I personally believe that home is where the heart is,” said Sherwin dela Cruz, country manager at iQiyi.

“Today is not about Korean content or Chinese content or Japanese anime or Thai horror that we will have [on our platform]. It's the advent of new Filipino content in iQiyi.”

“This year is particularly exciting because we're been hibernating for far too long. Last year, there were lots of shows that were lost and rightfully so because of the safety concerns,” added Sherwin.

“But this year, slowly but surely, we're getting back on our feet, we're able to film. Think of it as the comeback of GMA shows, the comeback of Kapuso stars, the comeback of Filipino content.”

Reena Garingan, adviser for content sales, syndication, partnerships, and distribution for GMA, said that the partnership will further make the network's programs accessible to more viewers anytime, anywhere.

Fans will now have more chances to catch their favorite Kapuso shows and even rewatch them multiple times as they please.

Both GMA and iQiyi are hoping to collaborate on more projects in the future including bringing Kapuso stars to other Asian countries where the streaming platform has a strong presence.

GMA's hit primetime series First Yaya now has the honor as the first Kapuso show to be seen on iQiyi. Part of the show's success is the strong chemistry between its two lead stars.

Here are some proof why fans are rooting for Sanya and Gabby's team up.
