Are You the Next Big Star? winner Frencheska Farr unlocked a new milestone in her acting career after winning Outstanding Dramatic Actress in The Micheaux Film Festival.

The Kapuso singer bagged the award for her performance in the short film, Harana, on May 3, 2021 (PH time) at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California in the USA.

Frencheska took to her Instagram account to express her thanks to her supporters, The Micheaux Film Festival, and the team behind Harana which was also recognized for its outstanding music.

She wrote, "What an amazing experience! #Harana was awarded Outstanding Music and I won Outstanding Dramatic Actress at the #micheauxfilmfestival!!!

"Thank you to @micheauxfilmfest for this recognition, really means so much [to] me to be able to share our stories and not only to be able to move people through our art, but also to spark change for the betterment of all.

"Thank you to my Harana family, our director @marie_jamora, producers @matthewkeenesmith & Jason Mclagan for trusting me and believing in me.

"To my family, friends, and everyone who has supported me from the beginning, you know who you are, thank you all so much."

Frencheska added that she dedicates her win to "Filipino people and everyone fighting the good fight."

Frencheska further shared snippets of her awarding, which she said was a dream come true.

In Harana, Frencheska plays Maya, a cover band singer in a Las Vegas casino-hotel lounge trying to connect with her daughter who is growing up in the Philippines without her. Wrestling between her passion for songwriting and becoming a pop-culture photocopy for an un-listening audience, she realizes that music -- the one thing that keeps them distant -- can also bring them closer together.

According to Harana writer and director Marie Jamora, the short film aims to share the story of the overseas Filipino workers in the USA.

Established in 2018, The Micheaux Film Festival is a "multicultural film festival fostering community, independence, and innovation" that is based in Los Angeles.

It is founded by Emmy-nominated director Noel Braham and Emmy-nominated senior producer Courtney L. Branch.

Frencheska left the Philippines to start a new life in the US with her non-showbiz husband, Gino Jose.

The couple tied the knot in a civil wedding in Las Vegas in 2017.

Three years later, they went back to the Philippines to have their beach wedding in Batangas attended by Frencheska's Party Pilipinas and Sunday All Stars co-stars Aicelle Santos, Mayton Eugenio, Maricis Garcia, Rocco Nacino, Rita Daniela, Wyn Marquez, and Gian Magdangal.
