Andre Paras is eager to start his PBA journey

By Aedrianne Acar

TV host-actor Andre Paras is already looking forward to return to action on the basketball court after he was picked to be part of the Blackwater Bossing team in the PBA Draft last March 14.

The son of former PBA player Benjie Paras and actress Jackie Forster expressed his excitement to play his favorite sport, but cautioned everyone to follow the strict health protocol amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Since March, the Philippines has been getting a high number of COVID-19 infections with hospitals in Metro Manila and near-by provinces overwhelmed with the surged in cases.

Andre said on his Instagram post, “I can't wait to play the sport I love again.

"I understand that safety will always come first so for now let's do our part by following the safety protocols.

“Don't forget to remind your loved ones and friends to stay healthy. #PBAItuloyAngLaban.”

Leaving showbiz for good?

Now that he's officially playing in the PBA, does this mean Andre will leave show business for good to focus on his basketball career?

In his past interview, he discussed his future plans, but stressed that for now he will not leave his show Game of the Gens on GTV.

Andre said, “'Yung sagot ko now, kasi my motto in life it's always change your happiness to what makes you happy.

“And showbiz or hosting makes me happy, basketball makes me happy.

"And at this point sabay pa rin sila, so I have no reason to choose [one], kasi sabay naman po sila... both make me happy.

"But there might come a time, when I have to choose and I don't know the answer to that yet.

“So, I guess, makikita n'yo na lang one day, pagtingin n'yo ng TV--Am I on court or kung wala, e, di nasa TV ako. So, you'll know the answer to that.”
