By Marah Ruiz

To adapt to the new normal brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Education has partnered with GMA Network to make classes more accessible to Filipino students through DepEd TV.

DepEd TV is an educational platform for multimedia classes designed for various levels of grade school, junior high school, and senior high school.

The episodes will be broadcast on Channel 7, one of the digital channels of GMA Network which will be available via the GMA Affordabox and GMA Now.

It is also available on other digital television receivers.

Each episode of DepEd TV will be 20 minutes long and will have 5-minute breaks in between.

They will be aired from Monday to Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The classes will also be available in both English and Filipino.

To make sure that the teacher-broadcasters, or the ones presenting the lessons, would be on a par with what's expected from them, they attended workshops conducted by award-winning Kapuso journalists such as Jessica Soho, Arnold Clavio, Kara David, Sandra Aguinaldo, and Atom Araullo.

GMA's DepEd TV is set to be formally launched on May 24, 2021 on Channel 7 of the GMA Affordabox, GMA Now, and other digital television receivers.
