Honey Cartasano pays tribute to her pageant mentor and BFF Paolo Ballesteros

Despite falling short of capturing a Binibining Pilipinas crown, Honey Cartasano took to Instagram her gratitude for her mentor and BFF Paolo Ballesteros for helping her throughout her pageant journey.

The beauty queen from Rizal finished in the Top 13, while Hannah Arnold from Masbate was chosen as Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 and the country's representative in the Miss International 2021 beauty pageant.

Honey posted on Instagram a short video clip and some of her photos with her dabarkad mentor.

She began her post saying, “To my mentor and main inspiration Paolo Ballesteros @pochoy_29 🤍

“You've forever changed my life. Thank you for everything!”

She went on to recall some of the lessons her mentor taught her, especially the "art of deadma."

“You've met me at the time when I was filled with doubts and insecurities. Many people had told me to believe in myself but little did they know hindi ko alam kung paano because everytime I looked at myself it was my ugly side that I see, the shortcomings and weaknesses.

“But you were patient, very understanding and you helped me to grow and see the beautiful side of me. You've taught me so much; to be confident, to persevere, the art of deadma, to rely on God, to take every opportunity seriously and of course to believe in myself!”

Honey added, “You've pushed me to conquer the things that hinder my progress, helped me discover my strength and exceed my limits.

“I am still the same Honey, I still have my inhibitions but my perception of them has changed.

“I am proud of the woman I am today because of you!”

The long-time Eat Bulaga host replied to the heartwarming post and even poked fun at their photos together.
