Gabbi Garcia on beauty pageant preparations: 'I will allot a year'

By Bianca Geli

Gabbi Garcia has made her beauty pageant pursuits clear during her recent contract renewal with GMA Artist Center.

In an online press interview on September 23, the Millennial It Girl and global endorser said she wants to have at least a year to make herself pageant-ready.

"When the right time comes that I'm able to join, I will allot a year, at least a year to prepare for it," Gabbi said.

She continued, "I'm open in doing trainings, speech communication, [pageant] walk, working out. I'm really game and I'm up for the challenge.

"If I feel like it's the right time, I'll make time to train before I enter."

One thing Gabbi is sure to advocate for, if and when she decides to take on pageantry, are self-love, particularly the appreciation for morena beauty, and diversity in the entertainment industry.

She said, "I'm proud of my skin. The entertainment industry is starting to become more diverse, nakikita ko kahit sa mga pageants."

"And I'm happy that I get to contribute, I'm able to represent all the young girls who are insecure and having trouble accepting their skin color and flaws. I'm able to represent them on TV and social media. Representation is so important."

"'Yung mga morena noong araw, mapapanood mo na meron ding chance sa industry. And now, I'm also able to inspire girls."
