GMA bags multiple awards at 34th PMPC Star Awards For Television
GMA continues to have a winning year as multiple talents and shows were recognized at the recent 34th PMPC Star Awards For Television.
Nineteen awards were given to GMA entertainment shows as well as news and public affairs programs such as 24 Oras and Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.
Leading the entertainment awardees were Vic Sotto, Manilyn Reynes, Roderick Paulate, and Aiko Melendez. Vic Sotto won Best Comedy Actor for his role in Daddy's Gurl, while Manilyn Reynes was awarded Best Comedy Actress for her role in Pepito Manaloto. The show Pepito Manaloto was also named Best Comedy Show.
Roderick Paulate and Aiko Melendez, on the other hand, were named Best Supporting Drama Actor and Actress for One of the Baes and Prima Donnas, respectively.
Best Daytime Drama Series went to Magkaagaw while Best New Male TV Personality went to Joaquin Domagoso, who is currently on All-Out Sundays.
Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko was also named Best Horror/Fantasy Program. Sunshine Dizon was also recognized for her work on the “Magkano Ang Forever” episode of Tadhana and awarded the Best Single Performance by an Actress. Best Talent Show Program went to The Clash.
On the news and public affairs front, Vicky Morales and Jessica Soho led the Kapuso awardees with awards for Best Female Newscaster and Best Magazine Show Host, respectively. Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho was also named Best Magazine Show.
Best Documentary Program went to I-Witness, while Atom Araullo was named Best Documentary Program Host for The Atom Araullo Specials. Born To Be Wild was named Best Educational Program while the award for Best Educational Program Host went to Dingdong Dantes for his work on Amazing Earth.
Taste Buddies was given the Best Lifestyle Show award, while its hosts Solenn Heussaff and Gil Cuerva were named Best Lifestyle Show Hosts.
The wins follow earlier awards won by Jeric Gonzales and Garrett Bolden at the 12th PMPC Star Awards for Music. Alden Richards and Christian Bautista were also given plaques of appreciation at the same award show.
