Kim Seon Ho removed from two films after abortion controversy

The fallout from the Kim Seon Ho abortion controversy continues as the actor has now been removed from the cast list of two upcoming films.

According to Soompi, the 35-year-old actor was removed from the cast list of the omnibus film Dog Days and the romantic comedy film 2'O Clock Date. His removal from both films was confirmed by production companies JK Film (Dog Days) and Filmmaker R&K (2'O Clock Date). JK Film, in particular, said that it would be “burdensome” to have Kim Seon-ho be the romantic lead.

Meanwhile, Sad Tropics, another film that Kim Seon Ho is slated to star in, has not yet reached a decision and said that they are “discussing the matter.”

The abortion controversy the actor is involved in began on October 18, when an anonymous poster posted on the Nate Pann online community shared that “actor K” had forced her into getting an abortion and then broke up with her.

While the actor was not named specifically, people began to speculate that it was Kim Seon Ho, prompting his agency, Salt Entertainment, to release a statement.

Fans of the actor also leaped to his defense, with the hashtag #ProtectKimSeonHo ending up on the trending topics on Twitter Philippines.

By October 20, Kim Seon Ho had released a statement apologizing for the controversy. It reads:

“This is Kim Seon Ho. I sincerely apologize for the belated statement. I experienced a fear that I felt for the first time after the article with the mention of my name was released a while ago, and that is why I am writing this now.

I was seeing her with good emotions. In that process, I hurt her due to my carelessness and inconsiderate actions.

I wanted to meet and apologize to her directly, but I am not able to properly convey the apology now and am waiting for that time to come. For now, I would like to genuinely apologize to her through this statement.

I apologize for also disappointing all of those who trusted and supported me until the end. It was all thanks to those who supported me that I was able to become the actor Kim Seon Ho, but I had forgotten that.

I apologize for causing trouble to my co-stars and all of the related staff who worked with me due to my flaws. I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt.

I am aware that this rambling statement will not fully reach your hearts, but I am still attempting to convey my sincere thoughts. I am very sorry.”
