Fresh from being awarded the PinakaPASADOng Huwarang Kabataan award at the 23rd Gawad Pasado: Gabi ng Parangal of the Mapua University school of Media Studies, John Vic De Guzman is moving toward another victory as he renews his contract with the GMA Artist Center.

In an interview about his contract renewal, John Vic recalled his time as a first-time Kapuso and talked about his wishes for his showbiz career.

“Sobrang welcome po ako nung naging part ako ng Kapuso. As a first-time Kapuso, nafe-feel mo talaga na hindi ka lang co-artist, family ka rin. Lalo na nung naging part ako ng Owe My Love,” he recalled.

He also expressed his happiness at Owe My Love now streaming on Netflix.

“Mas masaya dahil ang cast sa Owe My Love parang family na sila. Merong group chat na nagku-kuwentuhan kami na ang saya na nasa Netflix,” he shared. “At 'yung family namin na malalayo ang 'yung mga relative namin na hindi nakapanood, may chance na sila ngayon mapanood any time.”

According to John Vic, he's looking forward to taking on an action role, especially since it can showcase the athleticism he has gained as part of the men's national volleyball team.

He also expressed his openness to taking on more mature roles that require him to show some skin, and even taking on a role in a BL drama.

“Hindi na tayo pabata. Eventually, mapupunta rin ang mga roles sa ganon. Kung maganda naman 'yung storya, subukan na natin 'yung ganon,” he said.

He also shared his dream of acting alongside former co-stars Sanya Lopez and Anna Vicente. He also named Marian Rivera as another Kapuso actress he wanted to work with, on top of being his crush.

“Kapag naga-acting siya, sobrang natural, sobrang charming nung mukha niya. Pinapanood ko siya before, ang suwerte kung maging leading man ka ng isang Marian Rivera,” he explained.
