GMA Network and John Lloyd Cruz ink partnership for a big project

Multi-awarded and highly-respected actor John Lloyd Cruz is ready to begin a new chapter in his life. Today (November 9), he officially marks his comeback by signing a contract for a big project with GMA Network at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong.

John Lloyd has cemented his place in showbiz not just as a matinee idol, but as an incredible storyteller. He has established himself as a high-caliber actor, winning awards both in TV and films. He also earned a reputation as the preferred endorser of several big brands.

After four years of taking a break in show business, John Lloyd returns with renewed vigor by inking a partnership with the leading TV network in the Philippines, GMA-7.

In a statement, Crown Artist Management (CAM) CEO Rambo Nuñez Ortega described this moment as an exciting one for the A-list star. CAM is the agency handling the career of the actor.

Ortega said, “The management is excited in many ways because this is a first between JLC, CAM and GMA. Just the idea of putting together a project that his fans have been waiting for is something that is really worth anticipating."

“We are looking forward to a fruitful relationship and also help each other produce quality projects together,” he added.

GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon gave a speech via video recording to officially welcome John Lloyd and expressed his sentiment about this ground-breaking partnership.

“We are very happy that he chose to partner with GMA for his TV comeback. I am sure that all of our Kapuso viewers and your fans are excited to watch and support you as you begin a new chapter in your life,” he said.

Attending the contract signing virtually were Executive Vice President and CFO Felipe S. Yalong, and Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Communications Angela Javier-Cruz.

In a video, Executive Vice President and CFO Felipe S. Yalong expressed his confidence that John Lloyd's new show with GMA would "bring joy to Kapuso all over the world."

Meanwhile, GMA Films President and Programming Consultant to the Chairman and CEO Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, First Vice President for Program Management Department Jose Mari R. Abacan and Wacky Solutions, Inc. Director and Line Producer Edgar “Bobot” Mortiz, were at the Edsa Shangri-La to personally show their warm support to John Lloyd Cruz for this new milestone in his career.

They were also joined by Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth Rasonable, Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, First Vice President for Drama Productions Redgie A. Magno, Senior Assistant Vice President for Drama Productions Cheryl Ching-Sy, First Vice President and Head of International Operations Joseph T. Francia, Assistant Vice President for Program Management Mitzi Garcia, and Assistant Vice President for Talent Imaging and Marketing Simoun Ferrer.

In addition, COO of Crown Artist Management, Inc. Mikki Gonzalez was also part of the momentous occasion.

Abacan expressed the company's heartfelt welcome to John Lloyd and assured him that they would be there to support him.

Gozon also expressed GMA's gratitude for the trust John Lloyd has shown the company.

Delfin, First Vice President for Sales and Marketing Riza D. Garduqe, Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Communications Angela Javier Cruz, and GMA Artist Center Consultant Johnny Manahan.

Last October, John Lloyd was recognized in the 44th Gawad Urian awards as one of the recipients of the Natatanging Aktor at Aktres ng Dekada.

Moreover, Kapuso viewers and fans of JLC were amazed to see him back on television, when he joined award-winning host Willie Revillame during the Shopee Midyear Sale TV Special in June 2021, which was held at the Aranate Coliseum.
