Manilyn Reynes, Aljon Jimenez get their COVID-19 boosters

Pepito Manaloto star Manilyn Reynes is doing her part to support the COVID-19 vaccination program of the government, while the country is experiencing a sudden rise of COVID-19 infections after the holiday festivities.

Yesterday, January 5, the Philippines recorded 10,775 cases with a 31.7 percent positivity rate.

That's why Manilyn Reynes and her husband Aljon Jimenez have decided to take their booster to better protect themselves from the coronavirus disease.

In her Instagram post, the award-winning comedienne shared, “Nakapagpa-booster shot na po kami. Proteksyon para sa akin, sa iyo at sa ating lahat.”

Last December 2021, the Department of Health (DOH) announced that it would shorten the interval for the administration of booster doses.

Under this new policy, boosters may already be given to adults at least three months after the second dose of a primary two-dose vaccine, or least two months after the primary single-dose vaccine is given.

In a previous interview with GMANetwork.com, Manilyn Reynes reiterated her call for those who are still unvaccinated to take their shots immediately.

“Huwag natin isipin na, 'Hindi! Ano na lang din [hintayin ko] muna 'yung kung ano mangyayari sa kanila kapag nagpaturok sila.' Hindi po ganun. Dapat po protektado tayo. Sana lang, sana all,” she said.
