Julie Anne San Jose calls 'Limitless Live!' 'one for the books'

By Ron Lim

Asia's Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose got to experience something a lot of performers have longed for since the start of the pandemic as she played before a lively crowd of supporters at the Sun Life Amphitheater at the Bonifacio Global City last night.

In an Instagram post, Julie Anne described Limitless Live! As “one for the books” as it was her first show with a live audience since the pandemic started two years ago.

Julie Anne played to a crowd of more than a hundred who were able to get tickets for the show after she announced it on her Instagram account last Monday.

In an interview after the concert, Julie Anne shared that the whole event still did not feel real.

“Ang surreal lang sobra kasi the past few days, parang hindi pa nagsi-sink in sa akin na may live show nga pala, because ang tagal na rin hindi nagkakaroon ng live audience and live performances,” she said.

“Inisip din namin na possible kaya 'yun or kung mangyayari kaya 'yun. And then tonight happened and parang sobrang bilis lang talaga nung panahon. Parang lumipas lang.”

She also revealed that performing in front of a live audience wasn't originally part of the plans for the Limitless musical trilogy.

“(In) the last two legs, we went to Sultan Kudarat, Siquijor, and I also thought that we would go somewhere else na part pa rin ng Luzon but further than the city. But then nagbago na 'yung sitwasyon, mas naging maluwag na ng konti. We took that opportunity,” she shared.

Fans have patiently waited for something like this to happen in spite of the two year wait, and Julie Anne was quick to share her appreciation and gratefulness for her followers.

“I'm pretty sure that a lot of things have happened, a lot of things have changed, but 'yung support ng mga fans, friends, and family nakakataba talaga ng puso,” she said. “Never nagbago at nandiyan pa rin. Sobrang grateful talaga ako para sa moment na ito at sa pagkakataon na ito. I'm really hoping and praying na sana hindi ito yung last.”

That may come true soon, as Julie Anne says there have been talks about possibly holding a concert in a larger venue.

“After this, I don't know what's going to happen next but there have been talks. We have been planning for a bigger concert hopefully. Sana mas maging okay lahat para tuloy-tuloy na,” she said.

Fans who were unable to get tickets to Limitless Live! don't need to worry as the concert will be included in “Rise,” the final part of the Limitless Musical Trilogy, which is set to stream on April 9 and 10, 2022.

Aside from seeing Limitless Live!, those who watch “Rise” will be able to find out why Julie Anne picked the words “closure and liberation” to describe it.
