Garrett Bolden admits he was victimized by trolls on social media

By Jimboy Napoles

Kapuso Soul Balladeer Garrett Bolden admitted that he was once affected by online bashing and other forms of bullying online.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Garrett expressed his aggravation on several troll accounts and internet users who often make negative comments and criticisms against him and to anyone about anything.

He wrote, "First and last, never again. It sucks to feel bad about things you see/read on social media . Some people take pleasure in saying and commenting negative words against you, insult and bash you with remarks that would degrade your whole being.

"And what's irritating the most is I get affected with people I don't even know (trolls/fake accounts etc.) you see, it's what they do. They will be persistent, they won't stop, it's the life they chose... to 'Bash till you drop.'"

Garrett ended up questioning his own capabilities because of the negative comments that were thrown to him.

"It's true, I get hurt and affected most of the time. It makes me question my capabilities and to be honest my mentality gets wobbled and I get agitated. I allow them to win over me," he claimed.

In the latter part of his post, Garrett shared that over time, he finally learned how to deal with them.

"But now I learned that when you value yourself, when you trust yourself, they won't matter anymore. You'd get to laugh at rude comments and they will no longer affect you. Yes, I get pinched a little but I know how to bounce back."

The Kapuso singer also has an important message to all the negative people on social media.

"So whoever you are that enjoys leaving rude comments or bashing someone (TROLL or NOT) maikli lang ang life, "mabuhay ka hangga't gusto mo," Garrett wrote.

Meanwhile, Garrett recently released his latest single titled "Pwede Pa Ba" under GMA Music.
