GMA Network receives multiple recognitions at Gandingan Awards

GMA Network continues to have a winning year as several Kapuso personalities and shows received recognitions in the virtual program of the UP Community Broadcasters' Society Gandingan Awards 2022 held on Saturday (April 2).

The theme for this year's event concentrated on the issue of rights.

In the field of entertainment, the Kapuso primetime series First Yaya was awarded Most Development-Oriented Drama Program for its pilot episode, while All-Out Sundays was recognized as Most Development-Oriented Musical Segment/Program for its “Tuloy Pa Rin The Covid Special” episode.

On the news and public affairs front, award-winning broadcast journalist Kara David was honored as Best TV Program Host for Brigada. The Best News Anchor award, on the other hand, was given to Raffy Tima for Balitanghali.

The Atom Araullo Specials was awarded Most Development-Oriented Documentary Program for its “Habol Hininga” episode, while Reporter's Notebook was recognized as Most Development-Oriented Investigative Story for its “Lilibeth, Sonya, Frank, at Fabel” episode.

The Most Development-Oriented Magazine Program went to the investigative documentary show Brigada (Millennial Vote), while the Most Development-Oriented Feature Story was conferred on the daily midday newscast Balitanghali (Bantay Kalikasan: Used Face Masks in Batangas Coral Reefs).

I-Witness, on the other hand, was awarded with three recognitions. The Most Development-Oriented Educational Program award went to the “Di Paiiwan" episode, Most Development-Oriented Youth Program was given to the “Nueve, Trese, Katorse” episode, and the “Mask Land” episode was named the Most Development-Oriented Environmental Program.

Kapuso TV host Drew Arellano bagged the Gandingan ng Edukasyon (Special Citation) for his show AHA!, while Susan Enriquez was awarded the Gandingan ng Kabuhayan (Special Citation) for her program Pera Paraan.

Winning the Most Development-Oriented TV plug was GMA Regional TV's “Nakikita Kita.”

In the radio category, DZBB's “Kurtesiya na, Disiplina pa” was recognized as the Most Development-Oriented Radio Plug. Arnold Clavio and Connie Sison were hailed as Best AM Radio Program Host for the morning program One-on-One Walang Personalan.

The Best Field Reporter was given to Mark Makalalad for his program Markado.

Multi-talented Barangay LS DJ Renzmark Jairuz Ricafrente, also known as Papa Dudut, received the Best FM Radio Program Host award, while Barangay Love Stories' “Bagong Bayani” episode bagged the Most Development-Oriented Radio Drama award.
