Asia's Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose and the team behind the Limitless: A Musical Trilogy are seeing the results of their hard work as the production has been named a finalist in the Entertainment Special: Variety Special category at the 2022 New York Festivals TV and Film Awards.

During a press conference with a number of media outfits for the streaming premiere of “Rise,” Julie Anne revealed that they heard about being a finalist at the New York Festivals while at a masterclass organized by the GMA Regional group in Vigan.

“When the news was delivered to us, siyempre nagulat kami but at the same time, we were just so very overwhelmed kasi hindi rin biro na makapasok o mapabilang din sa shortlist sa New York Festivals,” she shared. “Surreal lang sobra at worth it lahat ng pagod at hard work. Nakakatuwa lang po kasi family ko na rin po itong Limitless team kaya nakakataba talaga ng puso kasi worth it po talaga lahat.”

The feeling of being rewarded was also echoed by Limitless: A Musical Trilogy creative director Paolo Valenciano, who shared that the project really tested the limits of their creativity.

“Nakakatanggal siya ng pagod. Limitless really stretched us in terms of creative juices. Nakakapagod siya,” he said. “We don't do these things for recognition or awards but of course, when it's recognized, that helps a little bit. It's a very fulfilling feeling.”

When Paolo says that Limitless stretched their capabilities, he really means it. According to the show's co-producer and GMA Regional TV and Synergy First Vice President and Head Oliver Victor Amoroso, the number of production snags they encountered was numerous. No matter how much they prepared, he said that there was always something new they would encounter.

“Nung dumating kami sa Visayas, kahit gaano kami ka-prepared, bumagyo naman bago kami dumating. Pagdating ng Luzon, dahil transition to new normal, ang daming kailangan na sundang protocols. Pero lahat nung pagod na yun nawala because of this award,” he revealed.

While becoming a finalist at the New York Festivals is a great recognition, he emphasized that Limitless was really a way to showcase the different sights and sounds of the Philippines as well as the limitless talents of Julie Anne San Jose.

“We're not doing this for the award, but we're doing this because we want to come up with material that will really make us Filipinos proud,” he said. “Naniwala talaga kami sa talent ni Julie at kanyang pagiging multi-instrumentalist. Bihirang mabigyan ng opportunity na talagang kung ano yung music na gusto ni Julie ay mapapalabas namin sa material.”

Right now, the Limitless team is gearing up for the streaming premiere of “Rise,” the final part in the Limitless trilogy. “Rise” is set to stream on April 9 and 10, and will include the entirety of Limitless Live! , the in-person concert that was successfully staged at the SunLife Amphitheater in Bonifacio Global City. Excitement for “Rise” is already evident from the comments left by fans on Julie Anne's Instagram account.
