Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Gabrielle Basiano arrives in Egypt
Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental Gabrielle Basiano has safely arrived in Egypt as she prepares to compete in the Miss Intercontinental pageant.
Gabrielle has several posts on her Instagram account chronicling her first few hours in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt, ranging from a shot at the airport, a short clip of her accommodations as the competition begins, as well as her first photo with the other beauty queens competing for the Miss Intercontinental crown.
The Miss Intercontinental coronation night is set to happen on October 14.
Gabrielle is seeking to keep the Miss Intercontinental crown with the country after Cinderella “Cindy” Faye Obeñita won it in 2021. Cindy became the second Filipina to win the crown after Karen Gallman of Bohol first won the title in 2018.
Gabrielle is not the only Filipina beauty queen set to compete in an international pageant next month. Binibining Pilipinas Globe Chelsea Fernandez will compete in the Miss Globe pageant in Albania on October 15, hoping to succeed current reigning Miss Globe Maureen Montagne.
Meanwhile, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International Roberta Tamondong will compete for the Miss Grand International crown on October 25. Should she win, she would be the first Filipina to do so. Last year's Binibining Pilipinas Grand International, Samantha Panlilio, did not make it into the top 20. The country's best performance in the Miss Grand International pageant has been with Samantha Bernardo, who was able to finish first runner-up.
