Celebrities continues to pay tribute to the late OPM icon Danny Javier of the Apo Hiking Society.

These include Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, who shared a very interesting story about one of his many encounters with Danny on his Instagram today, November 2.

According to him, the late musician and composer played a life changing moment in his life when he was given the honor to sing one of his compositions, “Di Na Natuto.”

Gary wrote on Instagram, “It's like a part of my history has died too. Danny once came up to me believing that this one particular song would do wonders for my career.

“I was fairly new in the music industry and I knew nothing about songs that would tickle a young audience's heart. He knew.

“So in 1985 he came to me with a song he originally offered the APO Hiking Society but for some reason it didn't make it to their choices of songs for their next project.

“So there I was in Cinema Audio recording studio, ready to record a song that basically put me on the map of Original Pilipino Music.”

He added “The song catapulted my career to levels that brought me so much closer to the masses because it ended up becoming my first tagalog recording.

“It became such a big hit that it still remains to be one of the songs that I hear people requesting for during my live concerts today. That song was Danny's DI NA NATUTO.”

Gary continued, “Thank you Danny. You were always fully aware of how much that song impacted my career.

“But you will never know how much your contribution and belief in what I could do with it, has impacted my life.

“Saying thank you is not enough but I think I can perfectly reflect what many of us have felt for you for all the ways you and the APO Hiking Society moved us all. I love you my ka-birthday…my friend. Im glad you have found rest in His peace Danny.”

Other celebrities who paid tribute to the late singer include First Lady star Boboy Garovillo and Zsasza Padilla.

In a report by GMA News Online, Danny's death was confirmed by one of his children through Facebook saying he died due “Complications due to his prolonged illnesses”. He was 75.
