Joaquin Domagoso wins Best Actor at 16th Toronto Film and Script Awards

Kapuso actor Joaquin “JD” Domagoso was recognized as Best Actor at the 16th Toronto Film and Script Awards.

JD was hailed the Best Actor for the movie, That Boy In The Dark, directed by Adolfo Alix Jr., with screenplay by Gina Marissa Tagasa.

The Toronto Film Magazine said the Toronto Film and Script Awards "focuses on recognizing and promoting independent arthouse film projects and talents from all over the globe."

That Boy In The Dark centers on Knight (Joaquin Domagoso), who had paranormal experiences while he was living with his grandfather. Secrets that will test Knight's braveness will also be revealed slowly. Kiko Ipapo, Aneeza Gutierrez, Lotlot de Leon, Ramon Christopher, Nanding Josef, and Glydel Mercado are also part of the movie.

The movie is set to come to cinemas on January 8, 2023.

JD started his career in showbiz in 2019. He first appeared in the Kapuso musical variety show, Studio 7, and then later on the hit TV series, First Yaya.
