Local theater fans, rejoice!
Hit musical “Ang Huling El Bimbo” is set to return on stage in April next year, according to the Full House Theater Company (FHTC).
In a release on Tuesday, Newport World Resorts said new faces will be joining some of the original cast members for the musical's comeback after four years.
Among the new cast is Sparkle artist and 'The Clash' grand finalist Anthony Rosaldo, who will be playing the young Hector.
Anthony earlier shared the news on his Instagram, saying it is the “plot twist” of his life this year.
“I've been praying for a break that would excite and teach me new things and eto na nga siya!”
Anthony also recounted how he was one of the viewers of the musical when it was streamed online in 2020. “Little did I know, after 2 years eto ako isang fan ng Bimbo, gaganap bilang young Hector,” he said.
Also part of the new set of cast is Nino Alejandro as Anthony, Bullet Dumas as Emman, Paw Castillo as young Emman, and Katrine Sunga as Joy.
Meanwhile, the lead roles will be reprised by Gian Magdangal, Gab Pangilinan, and Topper Fabregas for Hector, young Joy, and young Anthony, respectively.
“Ang Huling El Bimbo The Musical” is directed by Dexter Santos and written by Dingdong Novenario.
It centers on the life of friends--Joy, Hector, Anthony, and Emman--and features songs from the legendary OPM band, Eraserheads.
Details on ticket prices and seat plans have yet to be released, as of writing.
