Kapuso talents and shows earn nominations at the 7th GEMS Awards
Several Kapuso personalities and programs are nominated and vying for different recognitions at the upcoming 7th GEMS Awards.
The Guild of Educators, Mentors, and Students (GEMS) - Hiyas ng Sining is an organization that gives recognition to people who showcase excellence in different fields of the arts including journalism, theater, radio, and movies.
Officers and members from various schools, colleges, institutions, and private organizations across the nation make up the award-giving body.
This year, Maria Clara At Ibarra leads Barbie Forteza and Julie Ann San Jose will be battling it out with Abot Kamay na Pangarap star Carmina Villaroel and Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune Maricel Laxa for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Lead Role for TV Series.
Meanwhile, Kapuso actors Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid are both nominated for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Lead Role for TV Series.
Alden Richards is also competing for the Best TV Program Host (Entertainment / Variety).
Philippines' leading broadcasting company, GMA Network, once again received a nod in the TV Station of the Year category.
