By Jashley Ann Cruz

K-pop boy band SEVENTEEN's quirky unit BSS comprising of members Hoshi, DK, and Seungkwan is proving their star power after their newly released single album SECOND WIND break records and sweep numerous accolades upon its release.

On February 6, 2023, at 6 p.m. (KST), BSS dropped SECOND WIND and released the music video for its title track “Fighting” featuring Korean rapper Lee Youngji. A day after its official release, BooSeokSoon was already able to sell over 478,600 copies, surpassing other releases and topping the daily albums chart.

According to Hanteo Chart, a chart that records physical album sales in Korea, SEVENTEEN's BSS also set a new record for the most number of albums sold in the first week for a unit a day after the album's release. And we're not at all surprised as Carats have been long anticipating their comeback and now that they finally did fans can't stop streaming the tracks “Fighting,” “LUNCH,” and “7PM” since they've been dropped on various platforms.

The album's title track “Fighting” is also now the highest charting SEVENTEEN song on MelOn 24hits as it's the first track from the K-pop boy band to enter the Top 10 on the Daily Chart. The song also made it on the iTunes Top 10 charts in 33 regions and made it to the top 1 in 24 regions including the Philippines, Japan, Singapore, and Indonesia.

Carats could not have been more proud of Hoshi, DK, and Seungkwan who really made sure that their unit's comeback will leave a mark in the industry. Congratulations to the three!
