Fans of former Miss Supranational Pauline Amelinckx got some disappointing news today as the beauty queen has ruled out taking another shot at the Miss Universe Philippines crown.
In posts on her social media accounts, Pauline wrote that she was keeping it “short and sweet”, explaining that she is going on a “different but equally exciting path”. She expressed her appreciation for the support for a potential run and even admitted that the support got her thinking, but that her “gut and heart” were telling her otherwise.

Pauline's declaration comes after the Miss Universe Philippines organization announced that they would be announcing the candidates that will be vying for the 2025 crown tomorrow, February 15.
The organization made the announcement on its official social media, uploading an Instagram Reel showing that the 2025 candidates will be revealed on the Empire.PH YouTube channel at 3 p.m. As of this writing, the post already has thousands of likes.
The Miss Universe Philippines organization teased the announcement last week with a short clip showing the pageant's La Mer en Majeste crown, with text above it that reads “Who will be the next Miss Universe Philippines?”
The succeeding announcements are a perfect cap to last year's Miss Universe Philippines season, which was documented in A Queen's Runway, a documentary made by Erik Sopracasa and Tom Sys.
During a press conference held at the documentary's premiere, Erik and Tom teased that their project would be making its debut on Netflix “this year.”
“There are still some things that we have to finalize but we are allowed to say that it will be very shortly. You will see some stuff coming out soon,” Erik shared. “What I'd like to say to the global audience is looking through the Philippines through the eyes of Miss Universe. A global audience will also have the idea of the culture and what it is being in the Philippines.”

This year's queens will compete to succeed the first-ever Miss Universe Asia Chelsea Manalo, who has been busy ever since returning from her stint in the Miss Universe pageant.
Just last month, Chelsea was at the Ternocon held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) wearing a creation by Manny Halasan. Ternocon is an event that features reinterpretations of traditional attire like the terno, the Balintawak, and the kimona.
Chelsea was also recently celebrated at the De La Salle Araneta University (DLSAU) after she was awarded the Gawad Lasallianeta 2025 - Lasallians' Choice Award as well as an Alumna Achiever award by the DLSAU Alumni Association, Inc.
