Pen Medina

In a social media post, actor Pen Medina thanked those who helped him and prayed for his recovery.

Veteran actor Pen Medina shared an update on his recovery after undergoing a spinal operation.

In a Facebook post, the veteran actor shared that he is continuously recovering, two months after his surgery.

“Pagkatapos po ng aking matagumpay na major spinal surgery at dalawang buwang pagkakaospital, patuloy ako ngayong nagpapalakas upang makabalik sa aking bagong normal," he said.

In July, his daughter Kathleen Medina shared that his father is experiencing pain in his back due to degenerative disc disease. According to Kathleen, when they brought Pen to the hospital, the doctors found that there are no more fluids in his spine and that the pain comes from when the discs in the spine hit each other.

Additionally, Kathleen said that there was a pinched nerve in the spine which made things worse for the actor.

His son, Alex Medina, meanwhile, went on social media to ask for financial aid as he revealed that the savings of his dad had diminished in the two years of the pandemic because Pen hardly had any work.

While he and his family pulled together funds to help with the hospital bills and other expenses, he revealed that it won't be enough as it will take time for his dad to recover.

A few days later, Ping Medina, Pen's son, announced that his dad underwent the surgery and that it was successful. Pen, through his son's post, thanked everyone who prayed for him, including his doctors who helped and assisted him and his family.

Pen also addressed everyone who prayed for him in his latest post, thanking them for the prayers and for the help he received.

“Muli, MARAMING MARAMING SALAMAT po sa lahat ng mga tulong at panalangin ninyo,” he said, ending his post.

Before the pandemic, Pen last appeared on GMA's fantasy series Sahaya and in 2018, he played a variety of roles in several GMA programs such as Victor Magntanggol, The Cure, among others.
