Created by the very popular Fremantle Media Inc.,
Whammy! Push your Luck! is the newest game show in the country. Definitely enjoyable and thrilling,
Whammy! is one of the easiest ways to earn big bucks through good luck and brilliant strategies.
A franchise of the American version,
Whammy! The All-New Press Your Luck! game show host Paolo shares they had to undergo meticulous training sessions to assure the quality of the show is maintained.
“Ay, grabe 'yung pag-ga-guide sa’min. Sobrang tutok. Hindi siya (the guide) umalis, hindi siya umuwi hanggang makita niya na kaya namin ni Peachy” he says. “Iba (kasi) 'yung naiintindihan mo naman sa talagang alam na alam mo”
Rufa Mae adds.
Truly Filipino
Despite its foreign roots, there are elements in the franchised show that make it truly Filipino.
“Of course, kami ni Rufa Mae” Paolo declares. “I’m really proud of my partner. It’s a Rufa Mae with authority but still funny, and that brings it to a new level for her and I’m excited for her.”

“On our part naman as a team, 'yung mga jokes namin very Filipino” he adds. "Si
Whammy is very Filipino. Nagra-rap na siya ng Tagalog; dati wala nga siyang dialogue, so before you know it, siya na magho-host. Sumisikat na siya” Paolo quips.
While Paolo looked at their great tandem, Rufa Mae said it is the Filipino’s natural tendency to push their luck to the limits. She adds, “Saka 'yung mga showcase – 'yung halo-halo showcase, parlor showcase. Ang dali-dali, kailangan mo lang, push a button sabay hope and pray ka na lang na manalo. Pasok na pasok sa Pilipino.”
In the end, waiting for luck or the
Whammy on the big board’s arena of prizes and surprises is the biggest factor that makes up the Filipino fashion. “I think Filipinos want to push their luck (that) sometimes they take calculated risks, but these risks are the more rewarding ones” Paolo says. “That makes it Filipino.”
