Rovilson Fernandez

“You know when you always say to yourself, “I swear my life is a movie,” well my dad's life story is definitely my favorite adventure film. They don't make guys like him like they used to anymore.” - Rovilson Fernandez

We know Rovilson Fernandez as the top-notch host of our favorite GMA Public Affairs programs like Ang Pinaka and Home Work. He is a brilliant story-teller and always has something interesting up his sleeves to share with his audience.

Just like his post on Instagram, where the Kapuso host paid tribute to his father and shared his remarkable story of perseverance and hard work.

He started his post last December 9 by saying he will best remember 2020 as the year he got to spend more time with his father.

Rovilson shared, “I'll remember 2020 as the time I got to spend, hang, learn and just bond with my dad. We were never close, he was always the “strong, silent” type. A military man. I'm amazed at all his incredible stories of hardship, growth, timing, sacrifice and pure luck;”

The Ang Pinaka host likened his dad's life to the movie character Forrest Gump portrayed by Hollywood actor Tom Hanks in 1994.

He explained, “I swear my dad's life is Forrest Gump. But replace shrimp boat captain with Electrical Engineer(in a fledgling town full of dreams and cherry orchards later to be known as “Silicon Valley”), replace ping pong champ with Chess champion and making an incredibly fortuitous windfall from @apple stocks.”

The Kapuso host went on to reveal that his dad is an amazing figure, who silently helped other people by sending them to school.

Rovilson proudly shared, “And just like Forrest Gump, my dad has the biggest heart and is the most generous man I've ever known.

“So many people have gone to school/college because of my dad (and I don't just mean his four spoiled sons). You know when you always say to yourself, “I swear my life is a movie,” well my dad's life story is definitely my favorite adventure film.”

He added, “Oh, and next year he'll be celebrating his 50th Wedding anniversary with my mom. They don't make guys like him like they used to anymore(he still rolls his sleeves up like a Navy man). So ya, that's my dad. What a badass.”
