According to Rufa Mae, she does not need any financial support from anyone.
On Saturday, January 18, Rufa Mae Quinto posted a warning on her Facebook account telling her followers about scammers using her name for money.
The actress shared screenshots, showing the conversation between the alleged scammer and her friend.
“Ask sana ako favor doc if that's okay. Kulang kasi ako ng 45K for bail and sa Monday ko pa makukuha ang salary ko,” said the scammer.
The scammer even imitated Rufa Mae's iconic “go, go, go” line when they had to decline a call from Rufa Mae's friend.
They wrote, “Sorry doc im crying as of the moment pero go go go laban lang sa life.”

In a separate screenshot, the scammer wrote, “kakapalan ko na mukha ko if that's okay. You know naman my situation…”
Following this alarming situation, Rufa Mae warned the public about scammers who are using her name for money.
“Mga scammers po asking money using my name . Wala po akong [kailangang] financial support kahit kanino. And I'm not asking money hinde ko po cel [number] yan at hinde ako yan,” said Rufa.
She also urged netizens to spread the word to avoid any more victims.
Rufa wrote, “Paki kalat nyo nga po please itong gusto manghingi ng pera sa mga kakilala ko. Wag na kayo gumawa ng kwento at naireport ko na kayo sa lawyer ko. Friends be ware and aware! Salamat for sharing to all.”
