Actor Robert Pattinson reportedly contracted the coronavirus days after 'The Batman' shooting resumed.

Production of upcoming superhero film The Batman has been postponed after lead star Robert Pattinson catches the coronavirus days after returning to work in the studios near London.

The production was previously shut down ever since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March.

The Batman was originally scheduled to be released in October 2021 with two sequels in development.

Vanity Fair reported the statement of the film's distributor, Warner Bros. Pictures, “A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused.”

Vanity Fair's "highly placed source" confirmed that Pattinson was the film member who came down with the virus.

The 34-year-old English actor will be playing the lead role of Bruce Wayne and Batman in the film.
