GMA Network's hit morning show Unang Hirit kicked off the weekdays with a cheerful surprise for their very own Kapuso Morning Sunshine, Shaira Diaz.

On May 5, the UH Barkada turned on the fun live in celebration of Shaira's birthday.

What seemed like a regular workday turned into an emotional and joy-filled moment as the team surprised Shaira with a birthday cake, flowers, and a special visit from her mother, Liza Dela Cruz.

Adding to the sweetness, Mommy Liza shared the recipe of Shaira's favorite dish, pork ribs caldereta.

During the heartwarming segment, Liza opened up about her support for Shaira's upcoming wedding to longtime partner EA Guzman this August.

"Oo naman, ready na 'ko kasi darating naman talaga sa panahon na mag-aasawa ang anak ko," she shared."Nagustuhan ko naman kay Ed, mabait siyang tao at mapagmahal siya sa pamilya niya. Siyempre mamahalin rin niya 'yung anak ko."

To celebrate her daughter's birthday, Mommy Liza also sent her wishes for the celebrant. "Wish ko sa kaniya wag niya pababayaan 'yung sarili niya, 'yung health niya, maging malusog siya," she said.

Shaira felt grateful and thanked her mom for always supporting her and for loving EA.

"Ang sarap sa pakiramdam na marinig mismo sa inyo ni Daddy na ready na kayong ibigay sa kaniya, ready na kayo na magka-apo, kasi dati talaga hindi eh, pero ngayon eto na. Sila na mismo ang nagmamadali at nagpupush, kaya thank you, Ma. I love you, dito lang ako 'di kita papabayaan," the actress shared.

On Instagram, Shaira extended her thanks once again to her Unang Hirit family and mother. She also thanked the team for celebrating as well the birthday of her mother.

"Thank you Unang Hirit family! Ganda ganda ng cake namin ni mama and flowers ko," she wrote. "Thank you rin Mama for cooking my favorite caldereta this morning!"

Shaira Diaz also received an early birthday treat from her Lolong: Pangil ng Maynila family last May 3. The cast and crew surprised her with a cake on set, led by Director Rommel Penesa.
