Zsa Zsa Padilla also gives tips to aspiring young artists in the OPM industry.

With the OPM industry continuing to thrive with a wave of passionate young stars, several veteran Filipino artists remain as pillars who have helped shape and color its vibrant history.

One of the most iconic singers is Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla, now celebrating an incredible 42 years of music, passion, and love.

Over the decades, Zsa Zsa has gifted Filipinos with unforgettable hits such as “Kahit Na,” “Ikaw Lamang,” “Hiram,” and “Minsan Pa.” Her timeless voice, commanding stage presence, and deep emotional connection with the audience have made her a staple in concerts and special performances across generations.

In an exclusive interview, Zsa Zsa shared her joy and disbelief as she marks this major milestone in her career.

"Sometimes I still can't believe it's finally happening - I have to pinch myself! It's been such a long wait, and now that it's here, I'm honestly just full of gratitude," she said.

Reflecting on her journey, Zsa Zsa expressed deep appreciation for the blessings she has received along the way.

"To put it simply, it's love for music that has never gone away. But I also have to say, the support I've received from the industry bosses through the years has been instrumental. Their belief in me, giving me platforms to keep doing what I love- it means a lot," she shared.

"Add to that the love from fans, friends, and family… I really feel blessed. Whenever I perform now, and still feel that same spark I had when I was starting out- is what keeps me going. That connection with people - it never gets old."

Throughout her four-decade-long career, Zsa Zsa has learned lessons she holds close to her heart.

"Be real. People can feel it when you're genuine. You can try all sorts of reinventions, but if you're not being true to yourself, it won't stick. And also- you need to be tough. This industry can be hard, so you have to be strong, but also kind… especially to yourself."

Now seeing a new generation of artists enter the industry, Zsa Zsa hopes to be an inspiration. Not just to young singers but also to her daughters, Karylle and Zia Quizon, who have embraced music in their own unique ways.

"I hope they remember that success isn't just about the applause or the accolades you receive. It's also about how you treat people and how you grow as a person. I want them to see that grace and integrity truly matter. And more than anything, I hope they continue to use their voices - not just to sing, but to inspire, to uplift, and to make a difference."

Zsa Zsa also had heartfelt advice for aspiring musicians, "Keep learning. Stay grounded. Stay humble. Don't chase fame, chase purpose. Fame fades, but your voice and message will always matter if they come from an honest place. And most importantly, don't step on others just to get ahead. Believe in your abilities. There's room for everyone to shine -- you just need to stay true to who you are."

This May 17, fans will get the chance to witness Zsa Zsa's musical brilliance once more in her anniversary concert “Through the Years,” happening at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Makati.
