Pauline Mendoza is set to showcase her caliber as one of the best actresses of her generation in the upcoming world premiere of the newest Afternoon Prime drama series Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat on February 22.
This drama project follows the story of a young woman, Iris, whose perfect life is upended with the return of her father's original family.
As Iris loses everything, she must shed her innocence and learn how to fight against her own half-blood relations to regain the most important thing in her life: her family.
Joining Pauline on Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat are some of the most brilliant stars in show business led by Carmina Villarroel, Tanya Garcia-Lapid, and John Estrada.
She will also be paired with two promising heartthrobs, Dave Bornea and Manolo Pedrosa.
Here's some of the reasons why Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat will be your new afternoon dailyhabit and why you should watch it beginning February 22.
Many are already anticipating to witness the rise of the newest gem of Kapuso Network, Pauline Mendoza, as she tackles her first lead role in a soap.
We all remember Pauline for her brilliant performance as Crisel in the high-rating primetime series Kambal, Karibal (2018).
In an interview, John Estrada told GMANetwork.com that Pauline is on “the right track" to be one of the best in the entertainment industry.
He said, “Noong nag-lock-in taping kami, doon ko nakita 'yung totoong kulay ni Pauline na she's really willing to listen and willing siya magtrabaho, willing siya matuto.
“Kung ano sabihin mo sa kanya nakikinig siya, ginagawa niya. Kung meron ka ganung qualities sa sarili mo, e, qualities ng isang superstar 'yun. So, I wish her all the luck and I think Pauline is on the right track.”
Fans of Tanya Garcia-Lapid are looking forward to seeing her back on television and in her original home network after more than six years.
Tanya was the former onscreen partner of Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes and one of their biggest projects was the soap 'Sana ay Ikaw na Nga' (2001).
The wife of actor-politician Mark Lapid said in a previous interview that she is grateful to GMA-7 even if there were times that she begged off from doing a project with them.
Tanya recalled, “Thankful talaga ako especially to GMA, kasi never nila ako nakakalimutan. Parating may offers talaga, parati sila nagpi-pitch ng stories.
“Even if nagbe-beg off na ako, nagsasabi ako na hindi ako puwede or puwede ako pero for a short role lang, guesting lang.
“Talagang never nila ako nakalimutan and until know na parang nagsabi na ako na ayaw ko na nga rin [nag-o-offer pa rin].”
If you love Carmina Villarroel, then you will love her even more on Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat.
Moving out of her comfort zone, Mina will be the scheming first wife of Victor Salvador (John Estrada) named Dulce.
Soap opera fans will definitely enjoy her portrayal of Dulce, which is not your stereotypical kontrabida.
Carmina explained to GMANetwork.com, “Noong una talaga medyo nahirapan ako ng konti, kasi unang una 'yung personality ko nga, like I said, I'm such a happy and bubbly person, hindi ako palasigaw na tao, hindi ako palaaway.
“Tapos itong biglang character ni Dulce parang laging sumisigaw, laging galit. So, parang binuo ko lang 'yung character ko na hindi naman stereotype na kontrabida.
“Kasi si Dulce naman, is still mapagmahal na ina.”
Adding more color and kilig every afternoon on Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat are the two new leading men of Pauline: Dave Bornea and Manolo Pedrosa.
Dave Bornea is an alum of the groundbreaking reality-based artista search StarStruck and he will portray Randall, the main love interest of Iris Salvador.
Meanwhile, after joining Kapuso Network in 2018, Manolo has been given numerous projects and this time around, he will portray Justin on Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat.
Are you Team Randall or Team Justin?
Aside from Carmina, sexy comedienne Liezel Lopez is another reason why you need to watch Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat.
Groomed by GMA-7 to be the next big kontrabida star, Liezel's character as Trina will be entertaining, especially as she makes the life of Iris more miserable.
And, yes, the confrontation scenes between Pauline and Liezel are something everyone should watch for.
Pauline said, “With me and Liezel, well actually, hindi ako nahirapan katrabaho si Liezel kasi po nakasama ko na rin siya sa mga workshops before.
“I've known Liezel for a long time na and she's very professional. And you know, kami 'yung may mga eksena talaga na may magaganap na pisikalan diyan. So 'yun po 'yung dapat din abangan natin--mga kakaiba talagang pisikalan mangyayari.”
Don't miss the world premiere of Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat on February 22 on GMA Afternoon Prime.
