Because of her experience and expertise in the entertainment industry, GMA top executive Annette Gozon-Valdes fittingly wears a new hat: a judge-mentor in the GMA reality talent competition, 'Battle of the Judges.'

Rarely do you come across someone who possesses such impeccable control and exudes an impressive presence. That person is none other than Atty. Anna Teresa "Annette" Gozon-Valdes (AGV), daughter of GMA Network's Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon, and holds key leadership positions within the company.

AGV serves as the president of GMA Pictures and holds the esteemed position of senior vice president overseeing Programming, Talent Management, Legal Department, Human Resources Development, and GMA Worldwide Group. Through these pivotal roles, the top executive spearheads GMA's flourishing projects, including the acquisition of renowned celebrities and the nurturing of new and exceptional talents.

She is an accomplished individual, having graduated from Ateneo De Manila University with a Management Engineering degree, pursued law studies at the University of the Philippines, and earned a master's degree from Harvard Law.

Her creative prowess extends beyond bounds, encompassing the realm of television series concepts, creative consulting, and movie development. Her visionary mind has given birth to iconic creations such as Encantadia, Mulawin, Maria Clara at Ibarra, and her remarkable touch has graced notable hit films like Moments of Love, Let the Love Begin and The Road.

AGV's unmatched ability to spot and nurture talent is a testament to her exceptional skill. With precision and care, she masterfully crafts career paths for aspiring individuals, paving the way for their success in the industry.

And because of her experience and expertise in the entertainment industry, AGV fittingly wears a new hat: a judge-mentor in the GMA reality talent competition, Battle of the Judges.

“I'm competitive and I have the will to win," she shared in a statement.

AGV's squad is an impressive assembly of frontrunners in their respective fields: P-Pop Group VER5US, the mentalist Nomer Mindmaster, the teen champion biritera Vianna Ricafranca, highly-charged hiphop dance crew Power Impact Dance Company, Cyr Wheel King Kendal Fabroa, and the pride of Palo, Leyte, Shadow Arts theater Organization.

Asked how she brings out the best in her team, AGV said, "I-cha-challenge ko talaga sila to level up their game kasi hindi ito ordinary talent competition. Hindi ito singer versus singer, dancer versus dancer. Pwedeng ventriloquist versus magician, pwedeng aerialist versus boy band so ibang iba.

"Kailangan 'yung performance nila, complete package, may visual appeal, may auditory appeal, maganda pakinggan. Kailangan may emotional connection sa audience and kailangan magkaroon talaga ng lasting impact."

The weight of AGV's responsibilities and her unwavering dedication to excellence make her a pillar of the industry, driving GMA's success to new heights, making her the ideal judge for Battle of the Judges.

"Mas inclined ako to look for someone who I can put oncam," she shared.

"I'm looking for someone na nag-e-excel talaga sa talent na meron sila. I was trying to look for varied talents kasi ayoko naman na puro singer, puro dancer, so meron din akong mix of everything.

"Sana meron sa team ko na magiging GMA talent eventually. Meron na akong nakikita na may potentials. I hope, even if hindi sila palarin manalo dito, they will still do their craft and they will be known as excellent performers."
