Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation) has received their Most Popular Foreign Drama of the Year trophy after winning at the 15th Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA). The award was sent in from Seoul, South Korea.

Seoul International Drama Awards recognized Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation) as the Most Popular Foreign Drama of the Year.

Alongside TNT's Snowpiercer, and Sky Atlantic, HBO, and Canal+'s The New Pope, the Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee selected Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation) for the award because it is influenced by Korean content that received positive reception around the world throughout the year.

GMA Network's adaptation of one of the world's most well-loved Korean drama series made its debut last February 10, 2020, bannered by no less than Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes and Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado.

The awarding ceremony of the 15th Seoul International Drama Awards will be on September 10, 2020, at the M.B.C. Media Center Public Hall without a live audience due to health and safety protocols imposed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Launched in 2006, SDA is one of the world's leading festivals that recognizes top-quality TV programs and introduces them to the worldwide audience.

It is the same organization that gave Kapuso stars Alden Richards, Dennis Trillo, and Gabby Concepcion the Asian Star prize award.
