Jo Berry in Lilet Matias Attorney At Law

'Lilet Matias, Attorney-At-Law' lead actress Jo Berry assured the public that the upcoming GMA Afternoon Prime series gets it right when it comes to legal jargons and process.

Kapuso actress Jo Berry assured the public that everything the viewers would see in GMA Afternoon Prime's upcoming legal series, Lilet Matias, Attorney-At-Law, is correct and checked and vetted by a lawyer.

During the press conference of the show, Jo explained that the show has its legal consultant that checked the script before sending it out to the actors.

"Pinanood kami nina Direk ng series, and pina-attend rin po kami ng court hearing with the production team bago nag-start 'yung taping ng Lilet Matias,'" she revealed.

"And, every court scene po, may kasama kaming lawyer talaga, 'yun po 'yung tumutulong sa amin. At the same time, 'pag sinusulat [yung script], mayroon din silang consultant.

"Kapag may mga questions kami, kasi, 'di ba, mahirap magbitaw ng lines kapag hindi talaga namin naiintindihan, tulungan talaga, tinatanong ko [sila]."

Atty. Bem Sabanal, who is the legal consultant of the show, further explained that she would discuss legal jargon with the cast and that she would always be present when taping the court scenes.

"Before the script is sent out to the actors, we go through a consultation, nandoon na 'yung mga legal terms, legal procedures, legal processes," she explained.

"Of course, the story, buo na kasi siya. And so what I do is make sure na correct 'yung sinasabi nila, at correct 'yung proseso sa korte, especially 'pag mayroong eksena sa loob ng court, I have to be there."

Atty. Bem Sabanal explains that she is always present when shooting court scenes to make sure that the show gets legal processes right.

Starting on Monday, March 4, Lilet Matias, Attorney-At-Law airs after the top-rating series Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap.

Does Jo Berry feel the pressure to make a back-to-back success?

"Sa totoo lang, opo, malaking pressure, sobrang laki ng pressure, hindi lang sa akin kung hindi sa amin lahat. At the same time, I think it's a good pressure naman kasi mas magsisikap kami na gumawa ng maganda, gampanan nang maayos ang mga characters namin kasi 'yung sinundan namin is magandang show," Jo admitted.
