Dennis Trillo praises 'Maria Clara at Ibarra' co-stars Barbie Forteza and Julie Ann San Jose
Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo could not help but praise her two, female co-stars, Barbie Forteza and Julie Ann San Jose for their work in their new fantasy series Maria Clara at Ibarra.
In an Interview with Aubrey Carampel on Chika Minute, Dennis praised both Barbie and Julie for their portrayal of their respective roles. Barbie plays Klay, the working, nursing student, and Julie Anne plays Maria Clara, the female protagonist of Jose Rizal's 'Noli Me Tangere.'
Dennis said that Barbie shows how serious she is doing her work. “Kung titingnan mo parang ang bata ng itsura niya, pero kung umarte siya sa set at kung papaano siya mag trabaho parang ang beterano niya e,” he said.
On Julie, he expressed admiration for her dedication at what she does. “Lagi ko siyang nakikita as magaling na singer tapos ngayon, unti-unti, nakikita ko yung galing niya rin pala bilang isang actress,” he added.
Barbie, on the other hand, also expressed her admiration for the actor, saying he is perfect for the role of Crisostomo Ibarra, the male protagonist of the novel.
“Siyang siya talaga si Ibarra. The way niya i-handle 'yung sarili niya, even 'yung nuances ni Ibarra, on point. Ang galing!” she added.
In another interview, both actresses gushed over Dennis and expressed their excitement in working together with the actor. Barbie said that it was her dream come true to work with Dennis who she considers one of her dream leading men.
Julie Anne, on the other hand, felt honored to have worked with Dennis and admired his professionalism and calm during scenes. She also expressed her amazement at how the actor was able to focus on every scene they made.
Meanwhile, Dennis expressed his excitement over his role and its transition from Crisostomo Ibarra to the famed jeweler Simoun as the series will also include 'El Filibusterismo' as inspiration.
