New Kapuso star Richard Yap may be known for his kilig roles in rom-coms and drama series, but did you know that he actually wants to star in an action series? Interesting, right?

And what's more interesting is that he actually knows a lot of martial arts and is in fact skilled at using nunchucks.

In his first guest appearance on Mars Pa More, Richard Yap made these amazing revelations about himself.

He began by describing how good his 2021 has been so far as a Kapuso artist.

“It's been a great start of the year so far. It's been going so well. I've been having so many guestings. So, medyo busy na at the start of the year. So, maganda ang pasok ng year natin for 2021.”

Richard then revealed his dream role or projects that he looks forward to doing in the near future.

“Well, I've been doing a lot of rom-coms. So now, gusto naman natin mag-try doing some comedy and maybe some action…like a James Bond type of film or a 'Taken' kind of film. 'Yun talaga ultimate na gusto kong gawin.”

Many of us have seen Richard make hearts melt in his previous TV series and films. And it seems like he has mastered the art of making the viewers feel the tingles or kilig.

But what many of us don't know--until now--is that he is just as capable when it comes to busting martial moves, specifically doing the nunchaku or nunchucks.

During his Mars Pa More guest appearance, Richard brought out his nunchucks and unleashed his inner action star.

“Ginamit ito ni Bruce Lee sa movie 'Enter the Dragon.' This is a weapon you can use to defend yourself.”

Richard also said that doing the nunchaku has been his hobby since high school and that his uncle wass kung fu teacher.

“Ang movies kasi dati ang daming mga Chinese movies na kung fu movies. So, we were watching a lot of those. Kaya medyo na-influence kami nun.

“I was into Taekwondo for quite a while. I did some karate but sandali lang because I found taekwondo much more to my liking.

“I did study a little bit of that. I'm a Jack-of-All-Trades.

Indeed, Richard has dipped his toes into a number of sports. He plays golf and was also part of a college archery team in Cebu.

And besides doing sports, Richard is also busy as an entrepreneur. He's the part owner of Wangfu restaurant and is very hands-on with his office furniture business.

Plus, he has recently learned how to do video editing for his vlogs. Thanks to his daughter who's also a vlogger.

It's quite unbelievable how we only get to see one talent of Richard when in fact he has all these other interesting skills.

We bet you're excited to see him in an action movie or TV series soon. And if you want a glimpse of what Richard Yap would look like as an action star, watch the Mars Pa More video above.
