Kris Bernal shares home workout routine using tote bag and luggage as equipment

Has the COVID-19 pandemic and the quarantine period forced you to workout at home sans the gym equipment you've been accustomed to? You're not alone. Kapuso star Kris Bernal also found herself having to improvise during the lockdown.

In a recent episode of Mars Pa More, Kris shared her workout-from-home experience with hosts Iya Villania and Camille Prats.

“Alam n'yo hindi ako handa sa home workout. Wala akong mga gamit dito sa bahay, kaya ang ginagamit ko talaga itong tote bag ko at saka itong maleta ko.

“Hindi naman lahat ng tao may dumbbells, may equipment sa bahay, so kailangan maghanap tayo sa bahay na pwede nating gamitin as dumbbells.

“And then naisip ko rin kasi, mahal din kasi bumili ng equipment, 'di ba? So, ibili mo na lang ng food and essentials”

After explaining why it's practical to use objects that can be easily found at home as your workout equipment, Kris also shared some exercises you can do using a tote bag and a luggage.

Here are Kris Bernal's home workout suggestions:

1. Leg squats using tote bag
2. Elevated push-ups using a luggage
3. Lateral raises using tote bag

Mars Camille also advised that if you cannot do full push-ups, just pace yourself and adjust the level of difficulty of your workout.

And as an additional tip, Mars Iya suggested that you wrap a towel around the handles of the tote bag, as lifting the bag through its handles can be painful when it's really heavy.
