How to protect your energy from bad vibes

By Racquel Quieta

You know how sometimes you have an off day and you don't know who or what triggered it? According to tarot readings and energy healing expert Rob Rubin, if you can't pinpoint the source of your sadness or any negative feeling, you're most likely being affected by bad vibes coming from someone or something else.

Rob Rubin enlightening Mars Camille and Iya on how to protect themselves from bad vibes

In a recent episode of Mars Pa More, Rob pointed out how people often recognize their feelings, but don't investigate on where they are coming from or what caused them.

“Kasi, as humans, we're not taught how to question our emotions. We tend to miss out on the fact that sometimes what we are feeling is not ours.”

According to Rob, this negative energy that people absorb from others or some things is what's called bad vibes, and a classic example of this is when you report to work on a Monday and upon arriving you start to feel this heavy energy.

“If you're not mindful, the bad vibes will affect you and ruin your day and pull your energy down.”

“So sometimes you have to be extra mindful and ask yourself, 'Are these my feelings or not?' And in order to do that, what we need to do is take an inventory, to be mindful.

“Ask yourself, 'Do I have a rational reason to be feeling this way?'”

“Kasi kung oo, let's say it could even be hormonal, it could be kulang tulog, it could even be gutom ako, then it's yours.

“Pero, if you have no reason to feel this way, tapos sobrang lakas ng feeling, chances are you're being affected by somebody or something else's energies and that's what you need to protect yourself from.”

So, what do you need to do to ward off bad vibes? Rob gave the following tips:

1. Respond instead of reacting

Instead of lashing out at others right away, Rob said it's best to ask yourself: “Do I want to be affected by his or her energy? Or is he responding to somebody else's energy?

Rob also said that reacting can cause the same negative energy to spread. Say, for example, if your husband is upset over something and you get upset with him for being cranky, then you now have two people with negative energies. It's like an energy pandemic.

“If you react to everything, then what's gonna end up happening is you'll be a victim to whatever energies are around you.”

2. When interacting with negative people, make sure you're not hungry and sleepy. Plus, drink coffee.

If your energy is weak, it's easy for negative people to contaminate you with their bad vibes. So, make sure you always have high energy when facing these people.

3. When going somewhere with heavy negative vibes like a funeral or any place that's full of negative people, carry salt with you when entering then dispose of it when you leave.

According to Rob, the purer the salt, the better. Salt will protect you from bad vibes by neutralizing the negative energies coming your way. And, you need to dispose of it upon leaving because it has already been tainted with negative energy.

4. Burn Sage or palo santo.

Rob said the smoke from burning sage or palo santo helps clear any energetic slime that has been attached to you.

5. Take a salt bath or eat chocolate.

If you can't avoid being around negative people, you can just cleanse yourself after every encounter with them by treating yourself to a salt bath or some chocolates. What a great way to get rid of bad vibes, right?

As a last tip, Rob emphasized that energetic contamination begins with consent. So, if you don't give permission to engage in negative energy, you're safe.
