Sparkle artist and Mga Lihim ni Urduja actress Gabbi Garcia did not prepare for her role in the drama fantasy series like her co-stars. Instead of preparing physically for her role, she instead prepared “emotionally and character-wise.”

“Actually, for my role as Crystal, hindi kasi siya masyado sa action scenes, mas si Gem 'yun, 'yung character ni Kylie (Padilla), so more on the physical, siguro mas emotional yung preparation ko for Crystal and character-wise,” Gabbi said of her character when she answered a question for the Kapuso PR Girl.

She added, “Kasi si Crystal, we are both kikay in a way, doon 'yung similarities namin. But the way we express it, medyo magkaiba kami.”

Gabbi plays the jeweler Crystal Posadas, who allegedly is a descendant of the warrior-princess Urduja and can detect when one of her mystical jewels is near, and can use them.

Gabbi then explained why she had to prepare the way she did, “Emotionally and character-wise, 'yun 'yung kailangan ko talaga paghandaan at aralin ng maigi kasi may comedic timing din si Crystal e na kailangan swak para mag-work siya sa eksena.”

“Talagang nag-acting workshop ako with Miss Anna Feleo, my acting coach, and also I was constantly in touch with Sir Jojo (Nones), our head writer, and our director, si Direk Joron (Monroy), so I was really hands-on when it comes to building my character,” she added.

In a previous interview, the actress expressed how happy she was with the reaction of the viewers to her character.

“Kung nakukulitan sila, ibig sabihin effective ako, kasi 'yun talaga 'yung role ni Crystal. She lightens up the story because the story is very serious - action,” she shared.

She added, “Natutuwa rin ako sa feedback ng mga tao na she's like a ray of sunshine. First time ko rin 'yung ganito na medyo pa-comedy na for the character. I'm just grateful for the feedback that I'm receiving.”
