The Bangsamoro Federal Party (BFP) secured 16 seats while the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) won 15 seats in the historic Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections.

The BARMM Grand Coalition won eight seats, while Raayat Democratic Party got one seat, according to the Comelec canvass report for the Regional Parliamentary Political Party.

Thirteen parties joined the elections.

The results marked a major milestone in BARMM’s transition from an interim government to an elected regional parliament.

The Commission on Elections earlier reported that it has received 99.29% of the election returns in the first BARMM polls.

As of 10:33 p.m. on Tuesday, the Comelec dashboard showed that the election body has received 5,175 ERs out of the 5,212 expected.

It has received all of the 108 certificates of canvass from the cities and municipalities. —LDF, GMA News
