Korean actors Michelle Oh and Jerry Lee join the cast of 'My Korean Jagiya'

By Felix Ilaya

Aside from Alexander Lee and David Kim, there will also be other actors who hail from South Korea who will be a part of My Korean Jagiya and they are Michelle Oh and Jerry Lee.

Michelle Oh has been in the drama industry for quite awhile, in fact, she has acted with some of South Korea's top stars such as Song Hye Kyo and TOP. In My Korean Jagiya, Michelle will be playing the role of Kim Yea-Jin, the mother of Jun Ho (Alexander Lee) and Ji Hu (David Kim).

In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Michelle admitted that this is her first overseas drama project which is why she feels pressured to do well.

According to her, "I have to say the pressure is quite high. This project is outside of Seoul so I have a stronger sense of responsibility to do well. All of my family and friends are supporting me on this project so I am grateful and I feel that I need to do my best."

As a foreign artist, Oh is grateful to the people she's working with here in the Philippines for taking good care of her.

"I feel that all of the people I’ve met are like my family. Directors, writers, and all of the staff do not feel indifferent to me. I think Filipinos, in general, have a good heart. I am truly grateful for the kindness Heart has shown to us. She invited us to her home and she also brought us to different places. I’ve learned so much from her. I am overwhelmed that I’ve made new friends. All of the costars are also so warm," said Michelle.

Meanwhile, Jerry Lee will be playing the role of Mr. Choi, Jun Ho's manager. My Korean Jagiya marks Jerry's return to acting after having tried it in the '80s.

According to Jerry, "There was a passion inside of me all through the years which made me go back to acting again. Luckily I was cast in this drama (My Korean Jagiya) through a friend’s recommendation. There’s no reason for me not to accept this project because I chose an acting career as the start of the second phase of my life and the last career of my life as well. I am very overwhelmed and grateful to make my debut again."

Much like his South Korean countrymen, Jerry has nothing but praise for all the hospitality the Filipinos have shown him.

"I think some people don’t really realize that I’m Korean. They treat me like one of their own. They are very nice and I’m trying my best to be nice toward everyone as well. I like the Filipino food and all the staff on the shooting location is so nice. I was deeply touched with the extra care that they give us during our meal time when our food is served with Kimchi and Chopsticks, I also want to extend my gratitude to Heart, her family and to her friends for taking time in caring for the Korean artist team," he said.

Catch Heart Evangelista, Alexander Lee, David Kim, Michelle Oh, and Jerry Lee on My Korean Jagiya, weeknights, after Mulawin VS Ravena.
