'Pepito Manaloto' throwback episode earns kudos from Twitterverse

The “throwback” episode of Pepito Manaloto, Ang Tunay na Kuwento – its first for this year – was a big hit in the Twitterverse, earning kudos for its award-winning lead star Michael V.

As befits the start of the year, Pepito Manaloto gave a glimpse of the love story of the beloved multi-millionaire couple Pepito and his wife Elsa.

The episode showed the couple - in school uniform and retro hairstyle - dealing with friends, crushes and even the school bully.

Viewers from all age groups tweeted their kudos to Michael V, praising the show for its unbeatable and quality entertainment.  

They also said the love story of Pepito and Elsa was heartwarming and beautiful. A scene showed the two falling for each other in a record store while the song "Endless Love" was being played.

Despite being pitted against two shows by the rival network, Pepito Manaloto, Ang Tunay na Kuwento remains strong among Filipino households, besting its competition’s pilot episode by almost 2 percentage points as per AGB Nielsen’s latest findings.

For 2014, expect more innovations and honest-to-goodness laughter from the Philippine’s only reality-sitcom, Pepito Manaloto, Ang Tunay na Kuwento.
