Pops Fernandez fills in as 'The Clash' judge

By Jansen Ramos

Last weekend, The Clash Season 3 opened the new round of the contest with the original concert queen Pops Fernandez as guest judge.

The singer graced the singing competition as a reliever for panelist Lani Misalucha who wasn't able to attend the taping.

In the October 24 and 25 episodes, Pops got to meet the Clashers competing in round two titled "Kakulay-Kalaban" where the top 20 contestants are grouped into four colors.

Pops admitted that she was kind of nervous about judging for The Clash. Good thing, her co-judge Aiai Delas Alas's humor helped her get rid of the butterflies in her stomach.

"Partner, don't be nervous because meron tayong kasabihang nervousness is next to waley," Aiai said, alluding to a failed punchline.

Before the lockdown, Pops was part of the musical reality show for kids, Centerstage. It premiered last February 16 on GMA-7.

The production of Centerstage was suspended due to quarantine brought about by the coronavirus pandemic. It will resume next year.
