GMA 2021 Christmas special 'Paskong Pangarap' to feature 'The Clash' stars including new champ Mariane Osabel
GMA is set to lift our spirits this holiday season in a night of musical entertainment via its 2021 Christmas TV special, Paskong Pangarap.
It will feature The Clash main hosts, aptly called Clash Masters, Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver, and journey hosts Ken Chan and Rita Daniela, as well as the show's judges Comedy Concert Queen Aiai Delas Alas, Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista, and Asia's Nightingale Lani Misalucha.
Paskong Pangarap will also highlight the appearance of The Clash's new winner, Iligan City singer Mariane Osabel. The TV special is her first TV project after winning the fourth season of the Kapuso musical competition.
Here, Mariane will perform with fellow The Clash champs Jeremiah Tiangco and Jessica Villarubin for the first time.
In a virtual media conference on December 22, Mariane shared what transpired during her meeting with Jeremiah and Jessica after her win.
"Si Ate Jessica po ang dami niyang advices sa akin kung ano 'yung mangyayari after. Parang hineads-up niya ako na huwag ako mabibigla kasi normal lang 'yan. And sobrang nakatulong po talaga siya sa akin na, okay I have to get ready kasi ganito pala 'yung mangyayari."
"Sobrang friendly nila, pinakita talaga nila sa 'kin na part talaga ako ng family and deserving talaga akong manalo. Lalo na si Jeremiah, ang dami niyang ring advice. Sinasabihan niya ako ng 'kaya mo 'yan. Mariane, ikaw nga 'yung nanalo so kayanin mo na 'yan kasi ikaw ang itinadhana sa role na 'yan na maging champion," she told GMANetwork.com.
For Mariane, to be able to share the same stage with her idols like Lani and Rita is a dream come true.
She also shared, "Sobrang kilig, sobrang overwhelming po. No'ng time po na 'yun na ngdu-duet po kami nila Ms. Lani, Ms. Rita, and Jeremiah, sabi ko parang totoo ba 'to? Parang panaginip, parang dati pinagpe-pray ko lang 'to tapos ngayon biglang nagkatotoo na and na-starstruck pa rin ako sa kanila."
"Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala dahil ang gagaling nila. Parang minsan din sinasabi sa sarili ko, kaya ko ba maka-duet o maka-collob sila. Pero, thankfully, hindi nila pinaramdam sa akin na bago palang ako. Winelcome talaga nila ako, kumbaga," she added.
Paskong Pangarap will also star past The Clash contestants--season one's Garrett Bolden and Anthony Rosaldo, season two's Thea Astley, season three's Jennie Gabriel, and season four finalists Vilmark Viray, Mauie Francisco, Lovely Restituto, and Julia Serad.
The 2021 GMA Christmas special airs on December 25, 7:15 p.m. on GMA.
