Director Dominic Zapata was given the huge honor to direct the grandest action/superhero series Victor Magtanggol of Kapuso primetime star Alden Richards.

EXCLUSIVE: Creator Jules Katanyag explains why 'Victor Magtanggol' is definitely not a rip-off of the movie 'Thor'

Direk Dominic is the brilliant talent behind several successful GMA-7 shows like Mulawin, Darna, Captain Barbell, My Husband's Lover and Alyas Robin Hood.

In his exclusive chat with GMANetwork.com, the Kapuso director directly responded to Filipinos who bashed the telefantasya series and accused it as a copycat of the hugely popular superhero movie 'Thor.'

So, bakit tayo ganun sa sarili natin?”

Direk Dominic also pointed out that many people rely on working on this soap to earn a living for their families. “Sige na, bash it all you want but for you to tell people na parang indirectly na huwag n'yo panoorin 'to. Para sa mga taong 'yun please understand na every show employs about over 200 people.”

He adds, “Dalawang daang tao po ang umaasa sa kanilang programa para mayrun po silang kikitain, may madala silang hanapbuhay for the next three to four months. Hoping five months maybe even six months ganun po 'yung industriya namin… So every time po na gusto n'yo mang-bash ng show and make people not watch that please remember that this show represents not only individuals, but their families as well.”

Lastly, Direk Dominic says he's confident to say that Victor Magtanggol is a quality project and people should give it a shot first before people make any conclusions.

“We are only trying to make an honest living and we will not shortchange you with something that's trash. It's quality work, so give it a shot.”
