Asia's limitless star Julie Anne San Jose is now part of the upcoming adaptation of the mecha anime Voltes V: Legacy with a very special role: she will be singing the original theme song in Japanese, something that the singer-actress is proud of.

In an interview with Lhar Santiago on "Chika Minute" on March 31, Julie expressed how surreal it was to be tapped to sing the theme song for the TV adaptation of the hit Japanese animation.

“Parang, 'Wow,' From 'Maria Clara' tapos ngayon naman, 'Voltes V,' syempre isang malaking karangalan talaga kasi I'm singing it in Japanese, like 'yung mismong theme song talaga,” she said.

She added, “It's harder than I thought it would be. Challenge din ulit siya for me kasi nga ibang lengguahe itong aaralin ko, tapos wala naman akong masyadong alam sa Japanese language. Iba kasi 'yung twang nila, so I also had to really listen and study it.”

It can be remembered that Julie Anne's language coach for the hit historical fantasy-portal series Maria Clara at Ibarra praised the actress for being able to pick up the language with ease.

"Noong nagkaroon kami ng online Spanish classes, Id' like to highlight particularly si Doña Julie Anne San Jose. Mabilis! Sabi ko nga, wow, this is amazing," according to Roven Alejandro in an exclusive interview of GMANetwork.com.

He added that Julie's singing helped her learn the language faster since she not only learns the language but also “the rising and the falling intonation,” which was a big help.

Being a fan of the anime series since she was young, Julie expressed how excited she is to be a part of the biggest live-action series this 2023. However, she's not the only fan who is looking forward to it, as her boyfriend, Rayver Cruz, could not wait to hear her sing the theme song.

She recalled, “Voltes V fan din siya and then when I told him, sabi niya, 'Woah! Talaga?! Oh my gosh!' he was so excited for me. Gustong-gusto na niya marinig 'yung how I sang it.”

She added what she said to him after, “Sabi ko nga sa kaniya, 'Mamaya, ise-send ko sa'yo.'”

Aside from singing the theme song for Voltes V: Legacy, Julie and Rayver are also excited for their first-ever movie together, The Cheating Game. Aside from the movie, the actress said she still wants to work with the actor in a series.

“Never pa kaming nag series ni Ray. Nauna 'yung movie pero siyempre iba pa rin 'yung kapag teleserye or series,” she said.
