Migo Adecer admits he needed to take a break to focus on himself

By Bianca Geli

Kapuso actor Migo Adecer looked back on how the taping of his current soap Anak Ni Waray Vs. Anak Ni Biday was suddenly put to a halt back in March 2020 right before the coronavirus pandemic was declared.

During the show's virtual media conference on January 14, Migo told the press, "We didn't know what was going to happen with our show...first time nangyari ito. Sa five years ko sa showbiz, na in the middle of taping pack up lahat."

Despite initial fears for his safety, Migo remained committed to his show.

"So when I heard na we're ready to back to taping, of course just like everybody else I was a bit skeptical kaya lang I made a commitment, I signed a contract, and if they believe that the area and taping environment was safe enough, then that's good enough for me.

"But of course, I wouldn't turn down work. It was nice to see GMA still trying to make things happen and taking care of their artists."

Looking back, he was grateful to have had time off from a busy, fast-paced lifestyle during quarantine.

"Just a disclaimer, it's not that I don't like work or I don't appreciate it. It just so happened to be that when the pandemic hit I realized I really needed a break.

"A lot of people were tested on their mental health because they had too much time for themselves. For me, that was exactly what I needed, so I found solace on being alone.

"I could focus on myself, rejuvenate from all the stress I was harboring. I'm not thankful for the pandemic, but I'm thankful for the time I was able to reevaluate myself and heal."

In July 2020, Migo spoke about his experience with the pandemic while in Hong Kong with his non-showbiz girlfriend.
