What drew her into this comeback project from GMA Pictures? None other than her leading man, Michael V.

When asked during the Family History press con on what made her agree to do the movie, Dawn answered, “Just Michael, apart from him it’s also really the project.

“Yung unang nakapag-attract sa akin sa project na ito is the possibility of working with Bitoy, dun pa lang I was really in agreement, and of course ‘yung script, ‘yung treatment, and learning he’s going to be the director and producer...so all these things.”

Dawn also shared she got to see a different side of Michal V. for Family History because the actor-comedian is also the director, writer, and producer of the film.

“Actually, nagulat nga ako sa kaniya kasi maraming mga eksenang which required him to show a more sensitive side.

“Even as a comedian he’s already so creative but of course it was a pleasant surprise to learn as a dramatic actor he really has it.

“I’m glad we have this project where his audience can see him in a different light,” she said.

Family History’s trailer garnered attention online for its artistic and comedic portrayal of a family in the middle of a difficult time.

Dawn said, “It does tell a story about a couple going through hardship and they’re also raising their teenage son.

“It’s an ironic kind of story, the way it goes there are scenes that are funny even when it’s not meant to be funny.”
