Two of the Philippines' most-awarded journalists, Jessica Soho and Kara David, sang praises for Firefly, GMA Network's official entry to the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival.

The internationally acclaimed Kapuso news personalities showed their support at the advance screening of the movie on Tuesday, December 12, at SM North Edsa.

Jessica praised the story of Firefly which is about Tonton's journey to find the mythical Island of Fireflies based on his mother's bedtime stories.

"Napakasimple pero napakaganda, and it's so powerful. Hindi komplikado pero ang ganda ng pagkakakuwento kahit napakasimple lang," Jessica said after the advance screening.

"Naiyak ako. It just tells you na a story can be so powerful. Pinakita rin ng pelikula sa akin the power of a dream, aside from the power of a good story and good storytelling, ang lesson din is the power of a dream."

Meanwhile, Kara was brought to tears after the movie was shown as she approached Kapuso child star Euwenn Mikaell, who portrayed Tonton in the movie.

"Mga limang beses akong naiyak, grabe. Parang totoong-totoo 'yung mga tao, para kang nanood ng docu na ginawang pelikula," the longtime host of I Witness said.
