There will be no number coding scheme on Election Day.

Heads up, motorists!

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) suspended the number coding scheme on May 12, Election Day.

MMDA released an advisory on its social media pages on Thursday, noting that the expanded unified vehicular volume reduction program (UVVRP) will not be implemented on Monday amid the 2025 midterm elections.

In the same announcement, the agency reminded motorists to plan their trips, follow traffic laws, and drive safely.

May 12 has officially been made a special non-working holiday for the local and national elections.

President Bongbong Marcos signed Proclamation No. 878 on Tuesday to “enable the people to properly exercise their right to vote.”

For the midterm elections, voters will select 12 senators, 1 member of the House of Representatives, 1 provincial governor, 1 provincial vice-governor, 1 member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, 1 mayor, 1 vice mayor, 1 member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, and 1 party list.
