Barangay LS DJ,  host of Barangay Love Songs and Sikat, recording artist of GMA Music, singer-songwriter

Ever since he was a child, Papa Obet dreamed of becoming a singer.  He then joined singing contests in his native Bataan and sometimes won.  Then, he became a radio DJ in Bataan in 2002 and later on in Manila, thus fulfilling another dream of his.  He joined Barangay LS 97.1, the number 1 FM station in the Philippines, in September 2011, and has been there ever since.  He then forgot about becoming a singer when he joined radio.  He thought that his dream of becoming a singer was over.  However, GMA Music gave him the chance to release his first ever self-penned recording “Una Kong Pasko” on Nov. 17, 2017 via a distribution deal.  In late 2018, he was signed up as a recording artist of GMA Music and released his next composition “Binibining Kay Ganda” on Jan. 29, 2019.  This was followed up by an EP called “Papa Obet Sessions”, a compilation of live recorded songs culled from Spotlight Music Sessions in Dec. 2021 and another Christmas song entitled “Regalo” last Nov. 2022.  This 2023, he is set to release another self-penned Christmas song called “Paano Ang Pasko”.
